| Getting shy at obedience Training. Ava is enrolled in the beginner obedience training at Petsmart. Today was class 4 of 8. The first 2 weeks went beautifully, I would actually have to go early to Petsmart so she could walk around and get the excitement out so she would be calmed down in class. Week 3 and this week, not so much. Before class, the instructor lets the dogs play off leash to develop their socialization skills. Ava seems to really like this part and goes from dog to dog and person to person. BUT when her turn comes to try the new command with the instructor she gets shy and won't interact. After we get home and practice, she will do it perfectly. I first thought she may be scared of the instructor and may think the instructor was fussing her. But before class today she was so excited to see the instructor she ran right up to her to greet her. Only during class does she get shy. She is normally very outgoing loves to go shopping at Petsmart. Does anyone have any idea what I could do to build her confidence back up.

| LOL! sounds like she has stage fright! Have you tried having her do commands in the store while not in class, or in public? |

| I didn't think about that. THANKS. It might work, since she is so comfortable in the store and I could work my way closer to the classroom.

| It really helped with Ava in the beginning. When we go shopping she is do distracted by all the people and dogs. She gets so excited that she doesn't see or hear me for anything. Everytime we go in the store we get so much attention, and she LOVES it. And I would be lying if I didn't say I am as proud as proud can be when people say she is pretty. and she will sit in the basket like a queen on her throne, just loving the attention. That's why I don't understand why she is so shy in class.

I will look for her picture - I will bring Kylee by the bank one day so you can see Ava's sister in person.

| Sammy hid under the chair at her first puppy class. The instructor gave me a hard time and told me my treats weren't good enough! She was right and I brought cooked chicken last time and Sammy happily sat with the rest of the class.
