| at the end of my rope and frustrated Hey guys, Haven't posted in a long time. I am about ready to put Tobie in the pound....ok so not really, but the thought passes my mind for a milisecond when he has an accident in the house. He is about 100% pee trained outside and 95% poop trained, but we are still having an occasional accident of pooping in the house. He will be 1 year old next month. His sister who lives with my dad has no problems and is house trained and its embarresing. He eats pretty much once at night, we wait 20 mins and take him out and he's been doing really good, but has brain farts occasionally and pops a turd in the house. How long does it take to really get yorkies trained for peeing and pooping outside, and do the accidents ever slow down to a trickle....not litteraly, but like once in a blue moon? PLEASE SOMEONE HELP! ITS REALLY BEEN FRUSTRATING AND I JUST DON"T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE!! |

| It is really frustrating. I take mine out after they eat and before they go to bed and they still have accidents. They've decided my bathroom shower is a potty and go in there to go. Atleast I can clean it up easily, so you're not alone.

| Mine is pretty consistent in going to his litter box except for the fact that sometimes his pee is aimed inaccurately so there is the little bit of pee out of the box that I have to clean. Also if there is already pee in the box, he'd poo right beside the box so I have to make sure the box is clean at all times or provide him with 2 boxes so that he pee in one and poo in the other I just make sure I have plenty of white vinegar(cheap to buy) and Bissell Pet Stain. I also placed a coke bottle filled with water so that he could aim his pee on it in the litterbox. When he was younger, I always leave just a little piece of newspaper with pee stain so that he can smell it and knows where to go.

| Mine is consistant with using her potty pads for poop, when downstairs, only time she misses is if she has a cling on that drops after she has left her potty pad (sorry for being so graphic) but I am beginning to notice that the times she misses the pad for potty is if there is any poop on the potty pad....guess she is just extremely particular and won't go on the same spot as her poop....She too has also used my shower upstairs on a few occasions during the night when she is upstairs with me even though she also has her potty pad upstairs too...Personally I would much rather have an accident of poo on the carpet the potty that can sink down to the padding...

| Don't give him the run of the house untill he is 100% potty train, keep him gated or in a xpen, when you can't keep your eagle eye on him |

| my Tootie is 2 years old and is basically trained... EXCEPT - he will NOT go "poop" outside, it is almost like a fear kind of thing.. he will run inside, go to the pottie pad and do his "business".. he never pee's inside but is just determined to be in private to do it... I hate dealing with this but he is my boy.... good luck with yours.. d

| I wonder if you fed him twice a day (morning & evening), it would be easier on his digestive system and stimulate him to go potty? Charlie is 10 yo., poops twice a day with am & pm meals. Good luck.

| It can be hard, but try to stay patient (easier said than done I know!). It was a good 13-14 months till Teddy was fully house trained - he even had a few set backs after he was trained. His second summer (he was like 14-15 months) he had a set back b/c he would go out to pee/poo, but get distracted b/c we had rabbits that nested in our yard, and it became his mission to rid the yard of them and he wouldn't go. When I would bring him in he would have an accident. I wound up putting him on a leash and walking him around the yard til he went to keep him focused. Now he is 2 and luckily we don't have any problems - he will give me the look to let me know he has to go. He will still "sprinkle" once in awhile when he gets really excited - especially if I was out for a few hours or someone new comes in. It takes time!! Don't think it is just you or your baby - I think we've all been there, but their adorable faces and love make up for it. Remember 1 year old is still young, and yorkies can be a challenge!! Good Luck!!! |

| I would be sooooo happy if Dolce was 95% housetrained. We are lingering around 0% to -5% she'll even stand right in front of me a squat. I thought we were making progress with the new pee pads I tried but I was sadly mistaken. (BTW, don't feel bad about the pound idea, I have considered contacting her breeder about her return everyday for the last week and a half.) |
