| Barking HENRY HAS STARTED BARKING AT EVERYTHING, IN THE CAR IF SOMEONE WALKS BYTHE CAR, AT HOME IF SOME COMES TO THE DOOR, IF SOMEONE WALKS IN THE ROOM, ALSO AT ME IF I DON'T GIVE HIM THE ATTENTION HE WANTS. AT NIGHT HE JUMPS UP ON THE BED AND STARTS BARKING. IF MY STOMACH GROWLS, HE BARKS . I LOVE HIM SO MUCH BUT CAN'T CONTINUE LIKE THIS . I LIVE IN A RURAL AREA WHERE NO TRAINING CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE. THE ONLY THING THAT HAS CHANGED IS THE FOOD I FEED HIM, SEEMS TO MAKE HIM HYPER, AND I STARTED BACK TO WORK. I COME HOME 2 TIMES A DAY TO CHECK ON HIM. HE'S HAS ALSO STARTED MARKING TERRITORY AGAIN. I FEED HIM MERRICK'S CHICKEN POT PIE , HE WAS GETTING BORED WITH THIS SO I GOT THE MERRICK'S CANNED AND ADDED TO HIS DRY FOOD. COULD THIS BE TOO MUCH PROTIEN. HE WEIGH 3 1/2 LBS. AND EATS 2/3 CUP A DAY. ALSO I WAS GIVING HIM YOUGART DROPS AND STOPPED THAT ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO BECAUSE I GOT THE FOOD SCARE. SORRY FOR THE LONG POST , JUST TRYING TO FIND A GENTLE WAY OF STOPPING ALL THESE BAD HABITS. PLEASE HELP!!! |

| I think some are just barkers like Penny. We have to use the squirt bottle to quiet her down, or she'd bark all day at nothing.

YT 500 Club Member | The squirt bottle worked quite well. It hasn't stopped it completely, but whenever we pull it out, the barking stops. We don't even need to use the squirt most of the time. However, we don't have the bottle everywhere we go. So we need to put "blinders" on her when we are driving down the street. If we see a dog or squirrel before she does, I put my hands on either side of her face or point her in the other direction.

| I tried to squirt bottle idea and the squirt bottle itself makes him want to bark even more! The only time my puppy really barks is if I'm eating, he always wants to eat.

| OMG - I love Henry's name!! We use the squirt bottle. And my husband had a little trouble with it making Coby bark more. But it think it's the attitude you squirt with. My hubby was squirting with an "I'll fix you" attitude. And mine was more of a general consequence. When my husband stopped the attitude, he had better luck. We also just have to pull it out a lot of times to get him to stop. I am thinking about getting a tiny one as a travel one. You can't get a good squirt gun these days that doesn't leak. A tiny one of those would be cute. Of course, we'd probably be "detained" at the pet store though for something like that!! Good Luck. Nothing goes through you like a Yorkie's bark!!
