| Need some advice... i know this is not about a yorkie, so fee free to move this post if need be, but I didn't know of a better place to go for advice My best friend just got a boxer, female, 1 year old. she actually got her when she was 9 months old. She has never had a problem with potty training. She would never go potty in the house. She goes for walks every morning at about 6:30 am, in the afternoon at about 3pm, and again before bed. and i'm talking looooong walks. My bff is a runner so they tend to jog a lot too. Chloe also gets let out several times during the day to do her business. Well, the last couple of weeks, she has picked a spot in the hall to pee. her house is all hardwood so it is easy to clean up BUT...Chloe will not stop peeing there. They have sprayed it with every deterrent they can find and she still does it. only in this one spot. They actually have started scolding her for even going in the hallway because that is the only place she ever does this. so, since she knows she is not supposed to go in the hallway, she waits until they are not looking, goes in there, and pee's. she does it even right after going outside or going for a walk. so they do not believe it is because she "needs" to go. they have started to keep her crated when they are not playing with her or outside with her and that is not helping. I was throwing out a millions suggestions to them last night (she did this while we were over there, right after I took her outside to potty) and every time I try to suggest something to them, they say they have tried it. The only thing they haven't tried, which I have suggested and they do not think will work, is putting bells on the door for her to ring when she needs to go out. They do not think it will work because they do not think she is doing it because she "needs" to go out, but simply because she wants to pee there. any suggestions???

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | have they tried putting something over the spot she pees on? move a piece of furniture to that spot or put tin foil over the spot. the noise may scare her away.

| Has she tried gating the hallway so she can't get in there at all? It's possible that another dog had peed there at one time. |

so...i hit a brick wall when I suggested that. the foil idea...she had actually mentioned trying that. Chloe is pretty skiddish anyway so i'm sure the foil would scare her away from it. i will tell her that you guys suggested these things..maybe she will actually try it just seems like every time i suggest something, she has a reason why she doesn't think it will work. i told her "well, you clearly need to do something different than what you are doing...because that isn't working either!"
