| Can't poop on the training pads!! So I just got a 3 month old yorkie puppy. I'm in the process of potty training him. So far hes doing okay. He isn't really having a problem peeing on the pad, but he never poops on it. Every time he pees on the pad, I praise him and give him a treat, but as for pooping, HE NEVER GOES ON THE PAD! He always goes on the carpet. I always tell him that its bad and i show him where to go on the pads. He seems like he listens, but he never does it. I'm not sure if I'm trying to train him the wrong way or what. Its confusing. Please help! Thanks |

| Brody was the same way. It took him about 3wks to start to get the hang of things. He does better at night when he's confined to his xpen and has no other options of where to potty. During the day when he had free roam was our challenge. He's getting much better with the occassional slip. He just seemed to suddenly catch on that he's supposed to do both potties on the same pad. We did start to notice he was having more pee accidents on our carpet. It appears that he doesn't like to use the pads more than twice. And boy does he like to pee. LoL Luckily, we use the washable pads. So maybe your little guy needs his pads changed more often too?

| He's very young. Just stick with it and be patient. it takes them a while to catch on. He wants to please you, but he just isn't getting the message. You might try putting the poop on the pad and leaving it there. |

| Same with Maggie Maggie is 4 months old and does the exact same thing !!!! She pees on the pad and gets excited because I praise her and throw a 30 second party everytime she does it. But as far as pooing she never does it on there. She will go close to it but thats it . I dont understand why ? |

| Many here use 2 pads, one for pee, and another for poo. Venus is 14 months old now, and she's finally figured out she can do both on the same pad! But if I don't get that poo off her pad fast.....she'll move it to another location. At least she's went from poo eater, to poo mover! |

| It took some time for Luigi to poop and pee on the same pad as well. He eventually got it, but I ended up buying 2 pads so there are more places for him to go. This seems to work really well. I have pads that I bought from PetCo, where it snaps the pad or newspaper in place so that they don't try shredding them Just keep at it...he is still young but will get it eventually Best of luck!

| Kirby did the same thing..in his case he kept pooping in the same area...i put a pee pad there and he went on that and got the hint finally.I slowly moved the pad where I wanted it. He still has accidents....I think we confuse him, we have few floors to train him on and he is at about 75 percent . we have had him a month. Good wishes
