| Pooping/Pee Area Question When we first got Missy, we were currently living in an apartment. We learned about the training pads and bought tons of them (What a awesome invention) so we trained her with those, ever since she was 6 months (age we got her) until now (1yrs old) Well, we have two Crates, ones smaller than the other one a bit. The smaller one, we put the pads in there, and it is located in the corner near our main washroom. Missy has learned to use that as her deposit area, now that we have moved into a house. We were hoping to train her outside, but unfortunately, it's still a mess outside out neighborhood because of construction (stupidest, slowest , unorganized builder) so its been like this for 4 months at our new place. Our patio, which is located in the kitchen area, it's like a balcony patio, high off the ground. We were hoping to switch her to go out there... but it's going to be a struggle for sure. Should we go for it? She's been going in her 'toilet' crate for 4 months now. Remember she has 2 different crates... one is used for what is it actually used for, whereas the other one we made it into a tiny toilet lol. What do you guys think? |

| Why don't you put her 'toilet' crate on the patio where you would like her to go for now, and then when your yard is done, move it into the yard? |

Donating Yorkie Yakker | I need advice too! We will be getting a girl in November/December. I had decided on training her to go on pee pads, I even bought a frame(pink!) at the pet store. BUT after reading about the trouble so many people are having with the pads, maybe I should do the outside training? I have a 3 yr. old boy, and trained him to go outside, but we got him in the summer...and I thought it would be so much more trouble and cold for her to go out so young. Any thoughts? Also---can anyone tell me what you use for the long term confinement area? Is it a metal fence that I see in the pet stores? I was thinking about a clear Rubbermaid container, with her crate at one end and the wee wee pad at the other. I even thought about getting someone to cut small holes in it so she can see out. I do have a small suqare metal "cage" that we used for a short time with Skippy-but he went nuts in it, made a mess if he pooped in there.HELP, running out of time to figure this out! |
