Barking...barking... Hi, I am new to the community. I have a 4 1/2 month old boy named Simpson. He is great. Except occasionally when we are at home he insists on biting my hands and feet and when I get away he just barks at me. He he trying to be the "alpha" dog or just playing? Has anyone else had this happen to them?

My girl did that, and on occasion rarely still does....I've been consistent with saying no and being firm about it...4 1/2 month old is still learning...be consistent and firm when using disciplinary terms...so they understand and grab the concept of what you are saying...just like children!

Sounds to me like she wants attention or feels lonely. Does she have toys in there that she can entertain herself with, or a stuffed animal. Sammy has a teddy bear that's almost his size and every now and then I'll see him curled up with it. I have also heard that if you leave a ticking clock with them, like wrapped in something, that's suppose dto help, but I've never tried it.

biting and barking For the biting I have a 11 week old and he is teething so he was to nip bite what ever one wants to call it. He goes after my kids and will nip them to death. Of course the don't help because they are laughing. That is where I come in. I take my pointer and thumb and close his mouth and say no mouth. He will stop at that moment but the next day he starts. Mind you I just got him. As for the barking I need help with that one myself. He woke me up this morning barking. I did read some where on the internet that when they do bark find out what they want. Get it and tell them quiet. When they get quiet you reward them with the item they were barking at. Just started today but if there is better advice I would love to hear it.
