| one step forward two giant back I feel like we have been making progress with our 5 month old Yorkie in house training her. Yesterday she was off of her leash in the house and didn't have any accidents, that I saw or found. But today she already had two accidents. Once I took her outside to go potty and she wouldn't go. Within five minutes of being in she peed. So frustrated! |

| when you let her roam around the house, i suggest you keep her with you at all times with the leash. she is still a puppy and any chance she gets away with going potty in your house will bring your housebreaking back just a little. i read (and also do this with my Luigi) that if they're out of their pen/crate, you keep them with you at all times (wether it's with a leash-tie it to your beltloop if you want..just don't tug hard with them on it!, or if you're watching them run around yourself). iif you cant watch them, then they stay in their crate/pen. this not only gives you the chance to catch accidents, but it also teaches your yorkie to follow you around. i know how you feel though. puppies will have accidents sooner or later, but keep being consistent! your puppy probably went in the house right after you took her outside because she's gotten away with peeing in the house. but you can do it! =) good luck!
