Job Michael Evans book Just wanted to tell everyone how WONDERFUL this book is. Miso's training had not been going anywhere ever since I got him at 7 weeks. I finally used this book and did all the teaching methods and within 2 weeks he got the point. He has not peed in the house once in a month. Unfortunately the pooping has been off a couple times, but I'm optimistic. Anyways I really recommend this book to everyone it literally saved me when it came to training

I ordered it from www.barnesandnobles.com. Basically it gives you a list of steps on what to do say when you find an accident. You have to make eye contact with your dog and then make him have eye contact with the accident he has made. Then you scold him and all that but theres a certain way your supposed to carry your voice. Also one big thing I learned personally was that after I scold my dog I'm supposed to make him walk outside to the area I want him to pee at instead of picking him up and carrying him there. After you scold him and take him to wherever he is supposed to pee at you isolate him for 15-20 minutes or so. This is only one method though theres a couple different ones in the book.

I just ordered that book from half.com for 2.50. I went to look for some info about the author and found out he died of aids complications in 1994. So sad. Anyway thanks for the suggestion, I need as much help as I can get.

training book Thanks for the advice! I purchased a copy off of Half.com for only $6.12 for the book plus shipping. I can't wait to get it. I won't be getting my Muffin for a while but i want to be knowledgeable in training her the right way. My rat terrier Kirby learned pretty quick. He was having accidents as a puppy while we lived in an apartment (completely my fault, I was not taking him out enough) but as soon as we moved into our house, we would open the back door and tell him to go potty and he would race outside and do his business. Go figure!! Also, guys there are plenty of copies new and used of this book on Half.com and Ebay. I suggest buying off Half.com because you will get off cheaper.

Oh that sounds like a great book. I'll have to look into it, if the potty training doesn't move forward on its own.
