| chewing on cords Gizmo seems to like chewing on electric cords...laptop, lamp, etc... I redirect him, remove cords when possible, and I bought some Bitter End spray from Petco. I wasn't impressed with that product. Any other suggestions? My husband suggested jalepeno juice. I think/hope he was joking!

| I'm not quite sure what Bitter End spray is...but have you tried Bitter Apple? I tried it with Tobi, and he just sniffs it, and then walks away from whatever I spray it on. Best of luck to finding something that works for you and your baby!

| I've never used roll-on deodorant. I'll have to try that one. I have used tabasco sauce before and that works wonders for chewing on cords.

| That would be a concern if they consumed it. With dogs that I know, they won't go close to it. If they won't go near it, it can't hurt them. But you are right. With any product that's applied, you need to first make sure that they aren't going to consume large quantities of it!

| Had the same problem with Gracie. I used the clear gel deodorant. It stays around longer and it worked great, plus it smells good! I do have some phone lines running along the floor for my puters and those take forever to gel up. I just bought some clear duct tape and taped them to the floor. Gracie can't get at those. Yet another wonderful use for duct tape!

| When I first came, seen several here, that had to buy new laptop cords cause their babies chewed through them. Mine is still like this, as I hear laptop cords are expensive, lol. |

| My son's Rottie/Shepard/Pitt Bull mix chewed a lamp cord, and had to have half of his tongue surgically removed. BEWARE ELECTRICITY |

| Yes, I know how bad electricity can be, that's why I'm worried. When my son was little he came running in the room saying, "Mommy, I was lectricuted!!" My response was, "You were shocked?!!" The little toot just calmly shook his head and said, "No, I knew it would happen!" LMAO I have heard of several animals hurt this way, but what I really keep picturing is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation....that poor cat!

| The deodarant is a good idea. I tried the bitter apple and it did not work. Kiwi has chewed our phone, computer cord and mouse cord, our dresser, my curling iron. It was horrible-but his was her first few months. We put cords up or try to block them with something. Now that she is a year, I am hoping it will stop.
