| Therapy dogs Hello. I was wondering if anyone uses there yorkie as a therapy dog. I been looking for a place to certify Turtle so he can visit people at nursing homes and hospitals. I think he would be wonderful at this because he is so loving. Has anyone tried this? Does anyone know how I should go about it? TIA |

| Mine is starting training classes for it next month. I had the hope of doing it before I got him...after I did and became aware of his personality, I knew there was a reason we were matched together. I have a little bit of info...as soon as I get home from work, I'll post it.

| I have 2 yorkie certified as therapy dog. Of course I think both of their certification has expired and I haven't had time to renew it. To get certified you need to have a certification test done. You can have it done through on of these groups(I'm sure there are more groups out there than I have listed). www.deltasociety.org www.tdi-dog.org www.therapydogs.com Last edited by yorkieagility; 06-08-2005 at 12:41 PM. |

| I will be taking Romeo here Bon-Clyde From their site: Readily available for petting: Becoming a Therapy Dog requires taking Canine Good Citizenship one step further. Therapy Dogs (and their handlers) are qualified to visit institutions, hospitals, facilities, and any other place where Therapy Dogs are needed. Becoming certified as a Therapy Dog requires passing all CGC tests plus a "Say Hello" test, where the dog shows "the willingness to visit a person and to be made readily accessible for petting." (From the Therapy Dogs International, Inc. Requirements) Many Bon-Clyde dogs are Canine Good Citizens and Therapy Dogs, and CGC/TDI Testing is offered several times a year. See our schedule for times
