| The Stare Down - great tool! Hi everyone, I thought I would share my newly found technique for getting my Bella to sit/come/stay when I need to get her in the pen or she trys to run away and play the circle game (being nuaghty) The only thing that I notice works consistanty is to have a stare down with her. If I need to get her I sternly say "Bella COME HERE" and point in front of me. She will stop and look at me and I will say it one more time. The key is no NEVER break your stare. I found that she gets very un-comfortable and wil start to avoid eye contact, look at the ground ext. This is when I know it will work and she is breaking down. Usually she will then sit, or lay down, and I will repeat it one last time "Bella COME HERE" the whole time pointing to the ground in front of me. She will then sulk over, if it isn't close enough I just say it again and she comes all the way. At first this is a battle of wills, and then, becuase they know you are the Alpha dog they will give in. It does take some time at first, but no longer then chasing them around. You want to make sure that you are consistant becuase if you break stare first then they have won! After awhile they get whos boss. I am pretty happy with myself and hope this works for you too

| haha! is that the trick?! if I had known sooner..everytime I want her in the pen, she literally darts around the house and I cant believe I even try to chase and catch her (never successful) I HATE that darn ''circle game''!! It drives me nuts!!! I'm gonna try this later..

| THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! That seems like such a simple idea, but I've never thought of it. Molly is 3 mos old, loves to be outside, and in our yard the "circle game" gets old fast. I will try this tonight!!!!!! |

| Conner will never mind unless I make eye contact with him. I say, "look at mama", and he does. Then I give my command, and do not break the contact.

| What a great idea, my Cooper does not play the circle game, he is 12 weeks old and he knows that when mama is leaving he is going in the kitchen so he runs and hides under the bed where I cannot get to him....stinker....I will try this one |
