| Clicker Training Anyone tried this method? We started a puppy training class last week and it is based on Karen Pryor's Clicker Training. I had never heard of this method but I taught Tucker to sit in less than two days without saying a word. I think I am going to like it. It uses positive reinforcement to teach. Fun for puppy and me! My biggest goal is to teach him not to run away from me outdoors. So we are working on coming when called indoors this week. Tucker's Mom |

| I use the clicker all the time. Especially when I doing something new. Little off subject: I adopted a Border Collie yesterday and my trainer taught this dog to sit, down, fetch, stay(for 10 sec), and turn around with a clicker while I was standing there and watching(over a span of 2 hours). And she will keep what she learned as long as I keep using the command. I think she is smarter than my yorkies but it really didn't take them long to pick up things using the clicker either. By the way, I should mention she has been training dog for over 30 years and is a dog behavorist. I've been training over 5 years, so training dog isn't something new to me either. |
