| begging at the table gizzie begs everytime she sees someone eating and it is soo annoying. how can i get her to stop i know its my fault b/c i used to feed her from the table food i thought she could have but after my friends dog almost died from pancreitis from table food i stopped that immediately. i dont care how sweet her little face is looking up at me when im eating its not worth making her sick. i just wish she would stop barking at the table and i dont know how to make her do it. |

| I have to put Betty in another room and I feed her at the same time in her X- Pen. But, she caught on...now she has started to bark lately saying, "I know what you're doing in there!!' |

| I have the same problem, but it is because my mother (who lives with us) is always sharing with my dogs... I hate it, Petey has began to cry when we are eating now.

Pixie though has been trained to behave really well at the table. She stays in her chair, she only eats what is given to her, and she doesn't whine, bark, climb on the table, or anything else. I doubt Bogey is that well trained yet. And we only give them vet-approved foods such as fruits, veggies, plain meats... And no, that's not their whole diet. They eat Canidae, we just supplement with real goodies.

| I'm breaking Max of table food for the past couple of weeks. Luckily, he doesn't bark or whine. He just looks at me with those puppy dog eyes. I take his food, take a piece out and pretend to eat some so that I'm eating first. Then I put it on the floor and make him sit first. He absolutely doesn't get "sit" so I gently push his little butt down. After that, he usually walks away so I put one french fry in little pieces in his bowl. He'll forget that he's not getting my food once he starts eating so usually he eats at least some of his food. If he doesn't eat, too bad. It's interesting that he has begun to eat more and more of his own food than he ever did so quickly. I think the key is to totally ignore them when they beg and not to panic if they don't eat. He won't go a whole day without any food. Somebody told me two days is okay.

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Get a small metal bowl and a spoon and when he begs bang on that bowl with the spoon and I can guarantee he will take off running! Baby was a big begger when we got her, she was 4 yrs old and I was determined to break her and I did! Give it a try, I bet it works! |

| Before I got my 2 now, I just had my girl at my mom and dad's (farm dog yorkie!) When we were gone on vacation she stayed at my grammas, and gramma would cook her steak or hamburgers everyday! She was spoiled. She still gets up in her chair at the table at gramma's cause she knows gramma will give her something. ROTTEN! She gained 10 pounds while we were gone (seemed like that much!)... So we have beggers too! But we made them that way.

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | when we were eating dinner this evening Baby did not even attempt to come to the table and I had the metal bowl close by, so she knows! This trick really does work, it's something with the noise that they hate! |

| Summerlin is only allowed to have certain foods from our table... I am very particular about what she gets. However, when we start to eat, she will come in there and want some, but if I say no, she will go away. I guess she has just learned that she doesn't always get a bite - and that's literally all she gets when she does get something - a bite. I am scared to death that she will eat something she isn't supposed to and get sick. When we are at a restaurant (there are a few here with outdoor dining) she sits under the table patiently. If she asks for some food, and I think it is appropriate, she can have a small bite, but if not, then I just say no and she sits down to wait for us to finish. I guess you could say she is a beggar, but a well behaved one
