| need help - they're not getting along I just bought a new yorkie (Tabitha). It's only been two days and I don't know if I need to be concerned. My older yorkie, Isabelle, is 18 months old and she is not happy about the new puppy. I guess I can't blame her. She is used to being the princess. Today, both of them were being aggressive towards each other and Isabelle bit Tabby. Does anyone have any suggestions on making this introduction smoother? Thank you. |

| I'm not sure...The only thing I can suggest is to make it a positive thing for them to be around each other by using treats and such. Also, you don't want your first one to feel replaced, so make sure and give her LOTS of love. Introduce them to each other slowly. And if Isabelle is good to Tabitha and all that, then give her a treat. There's an article that I read that has some really great info on this...I'll try to find it.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I brought Pixie home a month ago and she was 13 months old and Cali who is 20 months old was not happy. I was kind of surprised as Cali loves my older pom and the pom doesn't want to be bothered. One reason I got another dog was so Cali would have a playmate close in age. Now 4 weeks later they play/fight more but Cali still walks around like she is so unhappy. They do lay together. Pixie is much more aggressive in her playing and Cali is so laid back, but bigger,it looks and sounds like she is getting killed, but when I stop them Cali goes back for more. Just give them some time to work it out.

| This is the very reason I am hesitant about getting another yorkie. I have a lab puppy too and Hannah attacks him, we can never have a peaceful moment when they are together. The lab stays outside, and when I take Hannah out I have to lock the lab out of the back yard or they just fight the whole time and the lab will roll Hannah in the dirt (or mud) then she has to have a bath, he also hurts her too(she is 22 weeks and 2.8lbs and the lab is 15 weeks 25 lbs). My neighbor has a little beagle puppy about 12 weeks old and the same size as Hannah and he brings him over to my house and they can play without hurting each other but it is constantly the whole time they are here they are running around and fighting with each other. It is really cute but I don't think I could handle that 24/7. I really hope things gets better for you. |
