| Clicker Training was wondering if anyone has or is trying this method of training? I have a 5 mth old yorkie and I had a clicker trainer come over Monday to show me the basics. Within 2 minutes she had Benji sit for her. This may not seem like a big deal, but trust me, with Benji it is. If nothing else,he learned what being rewarded with treats is. Since then some other issues we've been having with him (coming when called and not running out the door without permission) have improved a bit. We work and have a lot of other pets/fosters to take care of, but I can't wait til Sunday when I can devote time to this clicker training with Benji and our doxie. Clicker training is a process involving steps you need to take in order to get the final outcome of them obeying your verbal commands or hand signals without always being rewarded with treats. The clicker is just a signal to them that reinforces the reward system. Eventually you do away with the clicker. Check out this site: http://www.clickerlessons.com/index.html |

| I use the clicker all the time. Especially when I want to try something new with my dogs. Honestly, at first I thought it was rather stupid. But now that I understand how to use it I find that my dogs learn quicker with the clicker. |
