Can Any1 Answer My Q? Whenever I go to my dad's house for the weekend I usually bring Tippy along. At his house she doesnt want to use the pee pad so i decided to let her use the bathroom outside. I feed her in the morning and then as soon as she is done eating I let her out to use the bathroom. She does her business and I give her a treat. But after that there is a problem... I dont know when to let her out again. Every 2 hours? 3 hours?

If she isn't house trained then she should be taken out often. Right after she eats, drinks, plays and naps. Usually puppies like to have their wee-wee pads at the same spot all the time. After they are about a year old, then they don't mind using them at another house.

It depend how old is your pup.a puppy can hold her urine for only about as many hours as her age in month, and will move her bowels as many times a day as she eats.Pup vary somewhat in their rate of development, also if you feed her dry food the more she will drink more water, and water=potty time more often.

For adult dogs I always took them out first thing in the morning, fed, then about a half hour after eating & until they did #2, again about mid day & then right before dinner & a half hour after. It worked great once they realized the schedule. But it also depends if they are drinking more often because of the weather or getting extra food/table scraps/treats. But if you look at it as logically what goes in must come out w/dogs usually about a half hour later & what do you have to do first thing when you get up & before you go to bed-pee so its kind of a formula which can change when you add more to the equation. keep offering the pads at your dads she may get comfortable enough to use them there.

I had Pip confined to the kitchen, so I could pretty well keep track if her puddles if I missed getting her out in time. I found that if I took her out roughly every 1 1/2 to 2 hrs., there were hardly any accidents, and that was when she was 8 months.
