| She's Getting Worse (with Pictures) I am going nuts with Mocha.. Her biting and chewing is getting so bad now i am getting concerned... She chewed through my TV cord today that has everything (My tv, dvd player, VCR, stereo, Cablebox attached to it).. It had electical tape and vaseline on it and she still chewed right through it.. I am worried she will get electrocuted.. She is also still biting badly on me.. I am in such pain and bleeding from her.. She is biting areas such as my face too... She isn't getting any better.. She has chewed up my floors, my cabinents, my air conditoner...Also, she was on a roll with her potty training but thats also not going well now either.. My vet said wait until shes at least 6 months to go to classes but i am getting fed up.. The only thing that has improved is her barking.. I am thinking about keeping her in her little crate (i had a big one but now I took my cats carrier and I think will keep her in there during the day) but i think its way too small for her and I think its mean (at least her big crate, she has room to move).. AHHHHHHH i am so frustrated : The first picture is the surge protector for my TV, DVD players, Cablebox, VCR, Stereo, Lights. the second picture is my bathroom cabinet, the 3rd picture is my air conditioner (hard to see) the 4th picture is my desk draw and the last picture is my foot..

| have you tried the spray bottle technique? i learned this from my vet and groomer, it really works if not this is what you do everytime she bites at you or anything you don't want her to spray her face with a spray bottle filled with water. i know it sounds mean but it really works!and it's just water so it won't hurt your baby at all. please try this, i feel so bad for you, and i'm sure this will help if not competly i'm sure it will help some.

| Jesscruz, I have been doing the spray bottle thing for about 3 weeks and it doesn't help.. It seems that she enjoys being spray with water.. She acts like its a game.. Even when i yell and tap her on the nose or hold her mouth together she thinks I'm playing.. Thanks for your kind words and advice!!

| I feel your pain. I have a holy terror too. Have you tried bitter apple on some things she generally chews on and shouldn't? You could also try it on your hands when you are trying to hold her.

| perhaps this will help That is so sad he is so aggressive dont give up on him... Bach Flower essence...I just posted this on another thread worth a try...I know of a few breeders that use the remedy (which is a mix of five essence) I havent used it but they live by it! http://www.nelsonbach.com/BFE_for_pets.html these flower essences are used singly or in combination (e.g., Rescue Remedy) to treat various behavior problems including anxiety, or when the animal's mental condition needs to be changed. The essences are generally given by placing several drops of the essence into the drinking water

| When we got Mia she was doing the same to the edge of the doors and the cabinets. We used bitter apple spray and it works. I'm attaching a picture of it. You can find it at most pet stores such as Petco and Petsmart. They grow out of it. Mia doesn't do it anymore. I think they just do it when they're teething. Make sure she has plenty of plastic toys to play with. Good luck with your little one. |

| Brooke, I am usually trying to hide what she does from my husband. He would go nuts if she knew all she did wrong. In between this post and my last on this thread she totally chewed a pair of tap shoes to pieces. I took her outside, got rid of the evidence and she is still no better off. She get spankings when hubbies gone and I give her something appropriate to chew on. Doesn't work though!! I dunno!!

| Hi Brooke, I am sorry to hear you are having so much trouble with Mocha. Diesel used to be the same way, he chewed the cord to my laptop, the charger for my phone, and started pulling the wall paper off of one of my walls. I was so upset, especially about my laptop cord. I have now been using a water bottle with a few pennies in it. I started using it for Diesel's barking and sometimes use it for other disciplinary reasons. It works great. I have also found that a firm NO also works. Make sure that your baby has plenty to do and you should see a decrease in negative behavior. I hope this helps. WAR EAGLE!!!!! Reagan |

| Why do you have to wait til 6 mos. of age to take her to puppy class? I've been taking Lucy to puppy class at PetSmart, this thursday night is graduation and it was an 8 wk class (Lucy is almost 5 mos old). It helps with socialization and also you can consult with the trainer about the biting/chewing problem.

| I have a baby playpen that mine stays in when she is awake and I can't watch her (she isn't a climber). I put her toys in it and she doesn't mind. Make sure she has plenty of things to play with and chew on. He needs to be in your sight all the time. I am having some problems with potty training and I am going to tie a rope a little longer than the leash so she can stay right with me but can wonder a little but not far. There has been a lot of discussion on greenies but there are other things out there that they can chew on safely. |

| I think your "crate" idea right now sounds like the best. As you said, a larger one with room. Just take her out when you have time to bond and let her exersize then place her back in. Eventually and hopefully she will grow out of this behavior. I know how frustrated you must be and want to have a great relationship with your pup. I do hope it gets better for you!
