| How do I..... Goodness. Sassy is one year old. I just got her a couple of days ago. I absolutely adore her. We have a problem in that she walks backwards in front of me everywhere I go. The only time this isn't happening is when I do not go the way she thinks I am going to go and I can get in a few steps without her in front of me. Help!!!! |

| Sounds like she just wants to be where you are and is doing her best to just make sure she is keeping up with you. She is probably still unsure of her surroundings and is most comfortable with you and doesn't want you out of her sight. I am thinking as she settles in this will get better! Or if not, I guess you have your own little personal escort in front of you where ever you go She's a cutie BTW, congrats!

| Thank you for your response. Yes...she is doing some better. I was worried all day today because she wasn't eating. She was acting just fine, all peppy and running around. Finally, I just took her to her food and hand fed her a couple of bites. Kinda like priming a pump. Once I did that she started eating by herself. Being a new mommy is a tad stressful. I want everything to be right. I have never had one so small (4 pounds) and it is a delight. I have been sleeping with her on the couch because my bed is so high I am afraid she will fall off. Or maybe even jump! She thinks she is BIG! I have ordered some doggy steps for her but I guess we will be sleeping on the couch for a while until we get the bed thing figured out. I saw your blog. It is great! Those photos are fabulous. Absolutely. I'm sure you are glad to have a generator for those cold times when the power is off. Brrrrrrr. Sammi |

| Yes, it is stressful being a new furbaby mommy!! I still am pretty over-protective of Cooper and Carley and I've had Cooper a year and he is 10 lbs I have a really high bed too, but I have never had a problem with them trying to jump off. Cooper slept with me from day one, and he was a 2 pounder then. He would always just snuggle up to me and then I would feel him walking around and would take him out to potty. He thought he was big too and he didn't try to jump, though. You should do what you feel comfortable doing though. Cooper and Carley can still be picky about eating too, and I do the same thing, hand feed them and then your right..it's like priming a pump and then they eat!! Thanks for the compliments on the blog. Cooper, Carley and I enjoy doing it. And you are soooo right, love that generator. We just got 8 inches more of snow the other day, but thank goodness the power is still on! I look forward to seeing some more pics of you baby, we all love pics here at YT

| So funny! Yes. She makes me laugh a lot. I am so thankful to have her. She is getting rather bossy, though. Now it is a vocal thing. When she doesn't get exactly what she wants, when she wants it, she has taken to yipping at me. She has many inflections to her voicings. I am sure they all do. I will probably be able to learn it so that I know what she is saying. LOL This is certainly a wonderful new experience and I am adapting daily just as she is. I want her to be happy. She doesn't know how to play. I am trying to teach her, though. She seems to want only one toy. ME I have ordered two sets of pet stairs and hopefully when they get here we can move to my bed and stop sleeping on the couch. |

| She is just adjusting to her new home. Remember, everything she knew and felt comfortable with in her whole existence changed when you brought her into your home. It sounds like your Sassy ADORES you and just wants to be sure that you don't go away like those other people did. In time she will get more accustomed to her home and will feel secure enough to find a nice cozy place to snooze while you are moving about. How cute about the Yippies! Sounds like she is ONE smart Yorkie! |

| That is exactly what I am afraid of. She is only four pounds and looks so tiny to me. She jumped off the couch (pretty high, also) and scared me out of my wits. Now I put pillows there and she climbs down those. I have felt the little bones in her legs and they are smaller in diameter that those in my pinkie and I am very afraid that she will hert herself. She is pretty upset with me at the moment. I am going out for a bit and have put her in a pen with her bed. It is far too cold out to take her and besides, I am going to a restaurant. When I had my restaurant, I had a customer that brought her baby in...it stayed in the purse and nobody knew she was there. She was very quiet. I didn't mind at all since she was so tiny and contained. BUT....everyone doesn't feel that way so I never impose in that type of situation. Blessings, Sammi |
