Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Dog behaviorist? Check out these vids. Eddie is still freaked out about going to the park two days after our little encounter with a moose. I apologize in advance about the quality. Alaska is really not that dark in the daytime! Oh, and no jokes about the huffing and puffing! The snow is DEEP! Now, my question: How would one go about finding a behaviorist? I thought the idea absurd when I first heard about it. A dog shrink? But then I got a Yorkie! Oh, I was finally about to put him down on the ground on the way home. He had no problem walking that direction. http://www.dropshots.com/day.php?use...2&ctime=115630

| Aw how cute! I love the narration, LOL. You said in the video that he doesn't even want a treat? Wow your poor guy must be really scared! Good luck with a dog shrink! I hope he's able to overcome his fears

And yes, Rae Rae, he wouldn't even accept a treat! That's how I know he's truly upset. He'll gobble down a treat in the bathtub, which he hates. But he wouldn't even take one from my hand while I was carrying him. Hopefully, it will blow over quickly. I'm thinking that since I carried him through the park today, maybe he saw that there was no big, bad moose waiting to get him. Heaven help us if the moose returns!

| Aww ,poor Eddie that Moose must have tramatised him a bit!!! It just may take time. Alfie get like this when there has been a lot of firework's, he wont move ,he wont take atreat but he does evenually forget, I use the calming Bach flower rescue remedy in his water for a few days, which helps calm him!

| Aww... I feel so bad for Eddie. You are doing the right thing by going right back there. Loki can be fearful and he acts just like that - happy to walk away from whatever he doesn't want to go by but freezes if we walk towards it. He also will get so far over his threshold that he won't accept a treat. My trainer tells me to use a better treat and not to let him get that far over the threshold before offering the treat. Lure Eddie a little closer each time. Having Jack along helps too. They are just so cute! Where is Eddie's coat from?

And Erin, YT's shanatink made it! She sells them on www.tinkerbellscloset.com. I love it because it covers his legs and keeps the snow off.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Cool, thanks! I'll check it out. I'm hoping it's nothing serious, but you know Yorkie owners. Always panicking!

| who needs the behaviourist?? Mike, I think Eddie is just showing some good sense! He don't need no stinkin' behaviourist! He saw something that was potentially dangerous and he is afraid he will see it again at the same location. I suggest you keep taking him to the park. He will eventually get over it---unless you keep seeing moose there. I would congratulate myself on raising a wise little dog and not worry about it. |
