| I think you will. Basically you will teach her it's OK to go in the house and then not OK. If you need to leave her and can't take her outside I think it's OK to leave her in a pen with potty pads, but not to praise her when she goes there - just ignore it. Then praise her for going outside when you are able to take her out. It might slow down potty training but it's better than confusing her. We started going outside as soon as we got Loki, when he was also 13 weeks. We crate trained him and didn't use pads. Lots of people on here use pads though so they might have some advice. Why do you want to use pads and then switch? I say go for whatever you want as the end result.

| My First Yorkie Duke was taught to go outside from 12 weeks and I crate trained him. When he got older and was getting the hang of it I then let him join us a night for bed time so that he didnt have to be in the crate too long and he was old enough to hold it. Now I dont want my new yorkie to be lonely and I also let her join us for bed at night . I am crate training her as well, but I dont want her to be in the crate for too long either. I use a pee pad at night and she goes to it. But I thought when she is old enough to hold it I would take the pad away. I dont know I just dont want to confuse her though and I wondered if anyone else has ever done it that way.

| Yes , you'll confuse the little one by teaching 2 things at the same time . |
