pee pad trouble my yorkie ava is nearly a year old. when we lived in an apartment, she peed on the pad without a problem. now that we have returned to our home, she pees a few inches away from the pad instead of on the pad. we bought all sorts of sprays to help train her but nothing seems to work. it is beginning to become a real pain coming home and cleaning up urine every afternoon. has anyone else had this problem with moving with a dog? is there any thing i could do to somehow retrain her to use the pee pads?

The only thing I can think of is maybe put a shower curtain, or something like that under her pad. I have a walking pooper myself.

i know how you feel! my Remy was completely house broken on pads only a few months after training him, he never missed. just recently (now 8mos), he started to go just at the edge of the pad or an inch or two off. like his nose was on the pad, but his butt was out. it drove me insane! so, what i did was retrain him by praising him everytime he made it onto the pad (w/o a treat, just was happily saying 'good boy') and sternly said no when he was off it and pushed or moved him onto all 4s on the mat. after about a day of that, he got it again and now has not missed. one day when i got really frustrated, i told him no in his act but wouldnt move onto the pad, so i pushed his nose to smell his pee and told him 'bad boy'. i think that did reinforce not to do it again, but i dont think thats right training. hope that helps! good luck!

You might also want to put the pad in a litter box, that might help too. Venus never misses hers with pee when she has to get in the box to pee.
