Vindictive Peeing? Tristan has started doing what we think is vindictive peeing. We have baby gates up so that he can only be in the kitchen, eating area and family room (which is still pretty big), and one of the gates is a door-type of gate. He will bark and try to get our attention, and if we don't, he pees in front of the door-gate. He will have peed before, and it's more like marking. He's only done this in the past week or so, since he started going through "puppy puberty". It's also around the time that he started humping everything that will let him (my parents' and my arms, table legs...you get the idea) Has anyone else had this problem? We figure that the best way to fix this problem would be to have him neutered (which we were going to do, anyway) ASAP. Until then, though, does anyone have any ideas?

Yes, it sounds like he is marking his territory. Well, besides crating him, you could use a tin can with some pennies inside. Shake the can hard when you see him peeing in the wrong spot. Most Yorkies hate the sound and will learn through that. Good luck in your training. The neutering may help as well, but that's not always guaranteed either.

Memphis does the vindictive peeing when we are at my dads house and my dad yells at him for something. Memphis will not pee in the house but the second he is outside he will pee on my dads tires of his truck and of his riding lawn mower. he doesn't do it though if my dad doesn't yell at him. Little Goober...........

Years ago, my mom's Yorkie peed vindictively on MY BED. I was trying to put ear drops in or brush his teeth, I forget which, when he jumped up on my bed and peed, and jumped back down. Boy, he got it good. And he never peed vindictively again. That I know of.

This lil boy is getting snipped SOON. He marked my clean laundry this morning. My clean laundry that I was going to pack into my duffel bag for my trip to Orlando. On the other hand, my friend said something amusing about it. "Well, I guess it's *his* clean laundry now"

| Gracie (RIP) used to pee after she had a bath! It might be an hour or so later, but she was gonna show me!

But what Gracie would do could be related to the warm water loosening the muscles and making them less able to "hold it in"

He just turned 6 months old (May 2). That's why I think it's puppy puberty.
