| Don't give her access to those places. Put a leash on her when you take her out of the crate or put her in an ex-pen. Also, don't put paper in her crate unless you want her to learn to go in her crate. What do you mean she doesn't like it outside? Loki doesn't like wet grass so I just let him go in the mulch when it's wet.

| i dont mind her learning to go on paper but you are right i dont really want her "going" in her crate..and the outside thing is, that she doesnt want to go out w/ the rest of them..and if i walk out and put her down she goes right back in the house my other female was funny about that when she was a puppy too |

| I know (now) Venus's crate was way too big when I put her in it. Mine came with a divider (some place boxes in there too), so I made it just big enough to stand, and turn around in. Nothing in there but bed, and a few toys. I also put the crate by my bed at night, and when she wakes me I take her out. I keep her in a pen in the kitchen with a pee pad at one end, her bed, food and toys at the other end. I have to watch her close when she's in her pen, cause she's a little climber! When I have to go off, I crate her. Soon as I get home, we go outside. I also praise her a lot when she potties outside, and give her a treat for it. Soon as she potties, she comes straight to me for that treat now, lol. She does really good with the pee pads for peeing, but is 50/50 on there for poop. Something we need to work on for sure. I tried giving her "full kitchen rites" but had to revoke them due to pooping on the floor instead of a pee pad. I know starting her out in really small areas, did help tremendously. X-Pens are great for this, if they aren't climbers! Something else I did, was look all over this forum in training section, reading every post on potty training, and especially the replies. I got a lot of tips that way too! |

| everyone will disagree with me but i use the old fashion method....i tried everything w muffie but until i did what my father told me, she finally stopped. you rub their nose in it and spank the rear....put them outside. it was 6 months and she stopped immediatly. when i got kirby, i did it right a way and he was trained in 2 weeks....he was 14 weeks old. i know alot of people disagree with this method but it worked for me twice and it has always worked for my father.

I'll just tell you what works for me. With Kacee, I used bells on the doors, so she could tell me she wanted out. It takes awhile for them to get past the constant ringing. I took her to the door often, showed her how to ring the bell, and asked her if she wanted to go potty. She caught on quickly. Within a day or two, she was ringing them by herself. Usually,l just to go play, but there comes the time of the eventual payoff when they will ring it to go potty, but of course, they all like to go out to play, too. It's just not a constant ringing anymore. After she would potty, I got really excited, jumped up and down, and carry on so that she realized she had done good. They just want to please you. So, when they see how very excited you are after they potty everytime, they connect it to something that pleases you. I, also, always said, "Good girls get cheese." I gave her a little piece of cheese after every single potty. Of course, now she won't come in unless I say it! I can still remember the day that she "got it" and knew she was doing something she wasn't supposed to be doing. She had peed on the carpet! I saw her and I went and got the cleaning supplies and kept her right beside me. I lectured her the entire time I was cleanining the spot and she was looking right up into my face listening to me. She had gotten it and I knew it. She was somewhere about 4 months old then and did not have access to the entire house - just part of it. I never used crates. I hate them. But that's just me. The only two accidents she ever had after that was right after she was spayed, when she had two accidents the day after I brought her home, but I just figured that was from the surgery. It never happened again and she is now nearly 18 months old. I hope this might help you some. I know how frustrating it is, but they're well worth it.
