| Potty, treat working!! I couldn't believe it a few minutes ago when we were out! Venus got 2 treats this time! I been trying the potty then praise and treat today. She's been doing pretty good with it, but I sure wasn't expecting to give her 2 treats a few minutes ago! Now Adonis (5 years old), is wondering why he don't get a treat, lol. I'd taken some of Adonis's Canine Carry outs, and cut them up into about 6ths or 8ths. Put them in a baggie, and keep them in my pocket. I try to have one out and ready for her. No potty, no treat! Wow, I'm so proud! Now if she can make it through the night..... without messing up her kennel. She seems to wake me after she messed it up. I suppose she knows if she wakes me, I'll come clean up her mess. Just a proud moment of motherhood, lol. |

| way to go! that is how we did it too. works like a charm. Ahia would even fake a potty to get a treat.

| Great news! That is how I trained Kacee and she was housebroken in no time and I mean it! She will be 17 months old Saturday, the 9th, and if I am not paying attention when she goes, then she comes up to me and looks so sad and disappointed. So, I have to (act like an idiot in my back yard) say yahoooooooooo, good girl, good girls get treats! We proceed to run in the house like two idiots and get our little treat (all the while I'm telling her she's a good girl). She was housebroken by around 4 months. No joke. She had a couple of accidents after she was spayed at a little past 6 months of age and that was the last time she had any. She never, ever does anything in the house. I hung bells on both of my doors and she rings the bell any time she needs out. I love those bells, because I can hear them all over the house. Isn't it wonderful??????

| This morning, she did mess up her kennel before she woke me up again. But soon as she got out, and pottied, she got her treat. She kept looking to see when I would give it to her, lol. My problem is she whines a lot, so I never know when she wants to go out. So just been taking her out every 1-2 hours, and so far this has been working in the daytime. LOL on the fake potty for a treat!! |

| Since I started doing the potty, treat thing, only time she messes up her crate is at night! I'm pretty shocked at this myself! But it does work, along with taking them out every 1-2 hours at first. I know when she really gets the complete concept, I can wait longer to take her out. |

| Do you think it would work with dog food also? We taught our golden his manners using dog food. Something about it coming from your hand.

| Grabbing a little dog food and giving it to them when they deserve a "treat" is alot cheaper and they are getting more nutrition from that then the treats themselves.
