| Laney will #2 but NOT #1 on the pad I am getting frustrated. I have been trying to pad train my Laney since 11/05 with not much luck! She will do #2 but just flat out refuses to pee on the pad. I have tried the crate but she just pees all over when I put her in it. I watch her like a hawk after napping, eating & playing and she seems to be holding it in until I turn my back for a split second. She runs away from the pad and just squats anywhere. I have a boy who was very easy to train & hoped she would pick up his good habits. She just doesn't seem to have any idea that she should pee on the pad. I have even tried the spray from PetSmart. She sniffs & runs off to pee on the floor. If someone could please give me some advice, we all would really appreciate it! |

| LOL, I've got the opposite problem - Ruthie gets that she needs to PEE on the pad, but won't poop on it. Luckily, when she has accidents, she always goes on the wood floor and not on my carpets! She's only 3 mths though, she's still learnin!

| Wish I could help you. Only one of mine will do both on the pad. The other 3 pee on the pad, but poo on the kitchen floor, at least it's linoleum. What are we to do?

| In either case, whether it was a pup who would pee and not poop on the pad or a pup who would poop and not peed on the pad, here is what I'd do. If it's poop you're having trouble with, pick up a bit of old poop with the pad that you want him/her to use and then discard the poop. That way, a little of the smell remains on the pad. Likewise with pee, dab just a little bit of pee on it and then lay the pad down for pup to use. Good luck! I personally haven't pee pad trained, but I've read of many others having success this way.
