| Bells! OK- I've been trying these bells! I can't get ANY of my dogs to ring them! The only ones ringing the bells are the kids and I in an attempt to teach the dogs to ring the bells to go out! I've smeared peanut butter over them, cheese - you name it - I've tried it! My two big dogs bark and knock to go out. They will even come to me and ask to go out but the little ones just sit at the back door and look out - which is fine if someone is in the family room or kitchen. We haven't had a problem yet but when the kids go back to school there is a chance that someone won't see them and I don't want to frustrate the girls since they have learned to go potty outside so beautifully. Besides ringing them every time you walk in/out the door - which my dogs understand means "lets go out" because they come running... but they are not interested in ringing the bells for themselves. I've changed bells a few times because at first I thought they might be scaring little Roxy but that's not it - she doesn't want to ring a bell and she doesn't bark ever (except at other dogs that scare her!) Ruby only barks when she wants what I am eating! Help! I know they can do this - what am I doing wrong? Is it just that they are still so young? J |

| Have you tried putting his (or her) paw on the bell to ring it, before you open the door? This is how I got AprilLove to use the bell. I started by ringing it everytime I opened the door to let them out, then I placed her paw on it before I would open the door then a big "good girl!" She got it after a day of doing this. She still likes to ring it just to go play outside but she is catching on that it is to tell me she needs to potty. MaryKay AprilLoves Mommy |

| I just have one big bell that I got from Hobby Lobby, hanging from a ribbon, and attached to the glass on the door with a suction cup. I started by calling Luna to go out, and making her touch the bell with her nose, saying OUT, after that opening the door. We did that for about 2 days, and after that, there she was, bitting the ribbon, to make the bell ring. Hope this helps, it worked for us, and is great to have them telling you they need to go out... The dark side??? they NEED to go out to go potty, chase a squirrell, bite the grass, bark to birds, or just check their land... so you will soon find yourself beeing the doorman of your dog LOL, but it works, so keep trying!
