| Help Help Please I also posted this in general section thought i should have posted it here. so here it is: Parker has still been having potty training accidents. I thought he was only having one a day. Since I watch him like a hawk and he is only out running around if I can watch him very close. Well we got new carpet a few months ago through out the house. It is berber and very light in color. First let me say I'm a clean freak about stuff. My friend told me about some stuff you can get from wal-mart that is called urine gone. she said it comes with a black light and you can see where they have pee pee that you didnt catch. I wasnt really worried about using the black light because I cleaned up the pee pee very well. Some mistakes my hubby never knew about because he is less understanding than I. (haha). I sat and bald when I turned on the black night. Parker has been going every where and I dont know when. He would have just had to run in and do it and out within seconds. If he goes into another room, I'll call Parker and he comes right back by me. It never even left a spot or a stain to indicate that he did pee pee. My hubby freaked out told me I had to get rid of my dogs. Of course after he calmed down he said we will just have to watch Parker more. Maddie does great. She wont even potty in her cage, she waits. I know they say boys are worst. He has been fixed and everything. Anyway. He said we will work with him and see what happens. Well all weekend he have worked and worked and he will run in from outside and pee on the carpets before we can get to him. We have spent all weekend shampoo our carpets from head to toe. He runs into the room that we just shampoo and pee pee. Why is he doing this???? He wont even get off the deck outside, He keeps pee pee on it and pooin on it too. I took him Sunday to a vet to check to see if he had a bladder infection or something like that. He said he was perfectly fine and that if he is doing this he probably will always do it and he will have a continuous problem. Of course my hubby was there too. I dont think he is acting up because we got Maddie because he was been doing this for some time obviously. Hubby said I could keep Maddie since she is doing great with potty training but Parker had to go. It sicked me when I seen those spots with the black light. I mean a ton of them and to think we have all when down laying on the floor and never knew it. He did a ton in the hall way, living room, dining room and family room. I know you may be thinking we dont watch him, but honestly he we do. He does it within seconds. Of course when we would run into the other room and we would call for him he came right back. I never knew he was doing it. Now on Sunday, we would be watching him and he would look at us and do it right in front of us. I just dont get it.... I love this little guy to death and dont want him going to a new home, but I do understand my hubby. I've cried all weekend. My hubby said he feels really bad but those stains were terrible, which they were. You could not see them with the naked eye, but boy they showed up with the black light. Do you have any suggestions, my heart is breaking so bad!!!!!! Its weird because he does also pee pee on the pee pee pad, so I thought He was finally getting the hang of thing, He will also ring his bells at the door. but then I guess Is coming in a pee peeing???? Please, Please help!!! I keep Parker in an x pen with pee pads, I only let him out when I can watch him really really good. I praise him like crazy when he goes in the right place, and give him a cherrio. I dont punish him when he potties in the house, I just pick him up and take him outside. |

| I don't have any great advice but I can say what we do. We do punish Reagan if she goes in the floor. I don't yell or hit or anything I just tell her no then take her and put her in her pen (a pet taxi). It worked great for us. I really started doing this just to get her out of my way while I cleaned it up and to let me calm down just a bit. After a while she was doing really well with the potty training so I started slacking on the pen then she got worse so we started the pen thing again and she got better. She knew if she went on the floor she would be put in her pen (about 5-10 minutes) and she didn't like it, so when we use the pen method she is much better at holding it and letting us know she wants out. The other thing is you say he rings the bells to go out. If you can and have the time (and don't already do this) I would take him out on a leash when he rings the bells and stay with him for a short amount of time, what you think is adequate enough for him to have gone, then bring him back inside. I wouldn't just let him out on his own because then he is probably just going out to play and not actually going potty. This way he will learn that when he rings the bells its for him to go potty not just go out. Other than that I know a lot of people use the belly bands, that might be something worth looking into. I have a female so of course my experience is different so you can take my advice with a grain of salt. Hope you find something that works, good luck.

| OK first no freaking out! It's possible you've cleaned the stains but they are still showing up under the blacklight. It's also possible the blacklight is showing something other than just urine. Second, you say you are watching him every second. Try tying a leash around your belt loop and tethering him to you. That way you KNOW he can't sneak off. How big are the spots? Is he marking rather than squatting? If he runs to the carpet after a walk, then don't let him off leash. Don't give him access to the carpet. I KNOW this is hard. We made some of the same mistakes, giving Loki too much freedom, and he still came out 100% housetrained. Every time you mess up it's just a reminder to try harder. Plus, at a certain point it clicks with these little guys, right around the time their bladders mature a little and they really can hold it.
