| how do you guys do it? how do you guys walk two dogs? i just tried walking my older pup with my new pup and it wasn't easy! they both walk at different speed rates or i get the leashes tangled up! it was a mess! it's a must that i walk them together because i heard from cesar millan that it's better to walk your dogs all together to from a bond between owner and pack [i do believe that]. are there leashes or accessories to make walking multiple dogs easier? thanx for any replies! -joyz |

| It's really very easy..... when I walk Chattie and Peppy, I choose the pace and when we stop to sniff and pee. The main purpose of our walks is to simulate a "hunt" and reinforce my leadership role in the relationship. That is why I always set the pace and direction. I vary the speed so that Chattie my speed demon won't get bored and Peppy, my little boy is slower.... So we walk fast for about a minute and Peppy hustles and Chattie is happy and then we slow down for a few minutes and let Peppy catch his breath. They both get a workout and everyone is happy. Since we have started our walks, I have noticed a huge difference in the attitude and discipline of Chattie and Peppy. When I can't take them down the road, we walk on the treadmill same theory..... speed up a little for about a minute (never more than 2 mph) and then slow down to around 1 mph for a few..... it is working wonders! |
