| I just posted this in another thread but here it is again... I wish I could help, but I don't have my Yorkie yet I do have an English bulldog, who just turned 6. He did start peeing in the house - right in front of us sometimes - just last fall. I took him to the vet, because I figured it must have been physical. He was 100% trained when we got him at 14 weeks and has NEVER had an accident in the house (for over 5 years) And we had nothing new, no changes that I thought could prompt a "mental" reason. But the vet checked him out and said he is fine, nothing wrong. It lasted for about a month, he had a accident about once every 2 days. Then I took him to a trainer in town here she said he FORGOT his training I thought the whole thing was crazy, but, I did what she told me and I got a whole "plan" in place to re-house-train my 5.5 year old dog Anyway, he stoped having accidents. So who knows? I still don't! Maybe it was physical and he "got over it" or maybe it was mental and he "got over it", all I care is that _he got over it_ So best of luck, hopefully your baby gets over it!

| goodness... i hope you're okay! as for lexi, maybe it's time to go back to the drawing board in terms of training. confine her to a finite amount of space. leave potty pads out if she's indoor trained. lots of praises and treats when she goes in the right spot. how old is she again? i've read that when puppies get to adolence, they can get rebellious (kinda like human kids) and test your limits by doing whatever it is they wanna do without regards to your commands. maybe lexi is just being a teenager and need some additional structure in her training to stay obedient. sorry you're having to go through this. good luck! |

| You poor thing! Ouch! I'm sure Lexi didn't mean to hurt you, she was just trying to kill your b/f. Looks like you are going to have to remain single for the rest of her natural life! Sorry, I know you must be really frustrated. As the momma of a 1 year old brat that I can not get housebroken, I'm probably useless to you, but one thought I had is that if she was housebroken before maybe you need to go back to basics. Do exactly what you did to housebreak her. Don't let her out of your site, confine her to whatever room you are in. Reward her when she goes outside, etc. All of those things that they say work in the first place. (thought they aren't working for Tucker. I'm thinking he hasn't read the book, so he doesn't know that is what he is supposed to be doing). Good luck.

| Gina: Have you had her to the doctor to make sure nothing is wrong with her? Has she been through obedience training? I think that I'd go back to confining her to a small area. I forgot - how old is she?

| lexi was a year old march 29th, she was doing so so well, going on her wee pads and thats it...ever since 3 weeks now, she being bad... sometimes she does go on her pads, like during the day when im not home she is good. but at night, shes bad. i wake up to poo on the rug, pee on the rug.. even when i get home at 530. all is fine, i go into another room, come back, bam pee on the rug...she has the run of the house in the day, but she is fine all day long...i am so finally so happy in my life right now and she is just making this a nightmare... gotta stop this now cause my b/f has a fully carpeted boat and we plan to be on it all the time. she better smarten up or i cant take her, and my life will be destroyed again.

| Awww Gina, I'm sorry you're having such a rough time with Lexi. Just a thought -- maybe you should not give her the run of the house for a little while until she's fully potty trained again. Codie and Tia send her kisses!

Do you stop and give her loving when you first get home? Do you take her out to go potty when you FIRST get home? That might help. Is your boyfriend there with you when you get home? Does HE like HER? Does SHE like HIM? You might want to tether her to YOU once you get home. I'd put her in a crate during the night then no nightly accidents! Hoping you figure out a solution soon!

I'd put her little fanny right back in the crate. No question about it.

| Gina, I total sympathize with what you are going thru. Sango is doing the same to me. She just turned one on March 24th (she's a few days older than Lexi). This past week she has been driving me insane. At least Lexi is good and doesn't pee while you're not home. Sango pees when I'm not home AND overnight where she's not supposed to. I'm in the same boat as you. I never catch her so I can't reprimand her for it. But I think it's back to the drawing board for me. This morning before I left for work. I left her in the X-pen that is lined with weewee pads. And on top of that I crate her overnight. Wish you luck with Lexi. You're not alone in this girlie!

| It must be hard to think about putting her back in the crate at night but how can you go on waking up to all that mess on your carpet? You've stated it's driving you crazy and it seems putting a wedge between you and Lexi. I think crate training at night is a good idea and yes starting over from the beginning with training. She will catch on so much quicker this time. You have to let her know who's boss...she's testing you!! Good Luck! |
