| I need crate training advice Hi guys, So now that I have Wookie back home. Training is going extremely well. Except I am having trouble with crate training at night. Wookie does great when I put him in there for the night... he barely ever barks, and goes right to sleep.. but he wakes up in the middle of then night every night..... im getting to know if its a bark or a pee bark.. so i take him out when he needs to go, he goes right away, and when I put him back, he doesn't stop barking. But regaurdless, even if I have already taken him out to pee in the middle of the night, he still wakes up around 4:30-5:30.. and there is no quieting him down.. I usually just try to ignore him.. when it gets to be 6am.. i cant stand it anymore, and usually get up. What can I do?? Am I doing the right thing? |

| You are doing it right. Do you put a chew treat in his crate after you put him back in after his pee break? Maybe if he had something to keep him busy he would quiet down. After Millie's pee break around 3:30 - 4am, I always give her a paddywack (beef tendon, chew treat). She will chew on that for just a little while and then settle back down to go to sleep. But she will wake up again around 6-6:30am. That is just her time to get up. |
