| Where do you allow your dog to be????? How many of you allow your dog on the kitchen counter or on a table. I do - and some of the people in my family think this is just an absolutely horrible thing to do. It's an easy fix though - I just don't do it anymore when they're around. I sit my pup on the table or counter when I put his harness on or once in a while when I comb him or something like that. I give him his baths in the kitchen sink - so of course, he is on the counter for a while then. Whatever - just wondered if the rest of you do this too. Carol Jean |

| If a chair is pulled out, Scooby is right up in the middle of the table! Its close to the kitchen window and he can see us come and go, so it is his preferred spot. When anyone visits I make sure the chairs are pulled up-I don't encourage him getting on the table but I guess we haven't been very stern in not letting him there. Some of my family members would think I have lost my mind if they saw him there! They already think I am partially there and call me the crazy dog lady! |

| Bed yes, table, no I was taught at a very young age that animals do not go where food goes. It sticks with me today. Although it would be ever so much easier to bathe my pups in the kitchen sink (sprayer, perfect height, no stooping) I bathe them in the bathtub. They have free reign of all the other parts of the house, though!

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Our girls get on the table or counter as long as there is no food around...that is where I brush them out or when we are sewing on the table, Sailor loves to come and sit up there with us!! But we have to put them up there they don't get up on their own....for the most part! LOL

| I wash my dogs in my kitchen sink and groom them on the counter. I would do it at a utility sink if I had one but I don't. They are much easier to control while brushing or putting in a bow on the counter because it is out of their element. Quote:

| where? Hmmm...where do the Yorkies go...I can't think of any place that is free of dog germs in my home...I find Yorkies to be quite clean compared to most children. I am conveniced the more germs you are exposed to, the better your immune system..and I have been exposed to just about every discussing thing you can think of..LOL I certainly understand people who prefer not to allow the dogs everywhere.. |

| With my Ginger that passed this last summer at 15, she pretty much lived on the kitchen table in her basket. I started this when she was yound because I was afraid that she would be killed by my daughter and her friends running around and stomping accidentally on her. She liked being up with us and I loved her there too. I don't have children around anymore so that won't happen anymore but I do groom there. It's easy and they aren't dirty anyway |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | As far as a counter? They are on my bathroom counter when I blow dry them. Otherwise, I keep them off the tables. PERSONALLY, I think that it's a bad habit. I'd hate for someone to come over to my house and see a dog laying on my dining room table...*HINT FOR REBEL!!!* Some that aren't great dog lovers may see this as unsanitary.

| I do not allow mine to lounge on counters either...or coffee tables, dining tables...but I have sat them on the counter, or table for one reason or the other..the odd thing is I am not a cat lover because they can go where they pelase, yet a dog does not bother me.. |
