| Try leaving her in a safe area like the kitchen, bathroom,or laundry room, so she doesn't eat the furniture. My Yorkies sleep no where else but with me.

| Maybe you can try getting a play pen for her to put in the room that keeps her away from all the things you dont want her getting in to. Or maybe you can get Bitter Apple Spray to spray it on the things you dont want her getting in to. Good Luck!

different class schedules. IMO puppies need not to be left unattended for too long of a time. They have a tendency to get bored and therefore can form habits not to our liking. I hope that our suggestions can be of some help cause I know it can be frustrating but the time and effort that we put into them when they are little and young is forever rewarding in the months and years to come. Welcome to YT I know you will really like this site, and look forward to your posting more pictures of Lyla. Patti ~~Baby Blessing~~ | |

| Patti has some great info for you! A 4 1/2 month old pup is SUPPOSED to be "out of control"! It's what they do BEST, LOL! You have to take control and do your part to get her to be less destructive and better trained. Look back through the threads using the search function and search on "chewing". You will find a ton of helpful info. Also, an xpen is a great idea, or even crating her when you are gone. Yorkies love small spaces, never fear. Make sure you are training her in a positive manner, and remember, yorkies may ACT like people from time to time, but really they are just little dogs who want to PLEASE their people. Train her well and happily, and she will one day be the pup you want her to be! GOOD LUCK!

| Diezel was the same once I was done crating hom during the day. Between that and my fear of him getting hurt I got an xpen. It is def the best thing I did. Then once he was potty trained for sure he is now gated in the hallway when I am at work. The pen is great for several reasons. Besides his safety, I use it as a gate and its only about 10 lbs. So when I go away for the weekend I take it with me. |

| Maybe getting her so young, she did not learn the lessons she needed to learn from mom and siblings. I would recommend an "exercise pen" with some toys, a kennel for her to sleep and at one end a pee pad (cloth) while you are working. I would also recommend a training class. This girl will be in your life a long time and you would want to work to have her be a happy well adjusted girl. |

| I was reading this thread since I am well have a 4 month old puppy. I just wanted to tell Layla's mom that I keep my guy in an X-pen with a bed and a crate so he can crawl in for privacy if he wishes. He also has a pee-pad and a bowl of water and dry kibble for him in there. My husband is in and out of the house all day since he is self employed so many times he says he goes home and Murphy does not even want to come out - he will open the X-pen and he will come out for a bit and than go back in to sleep. I think this is your best option since it will get Layla in a schedule and she will soon learn YOUR schedule. As long as you are giving her plenty of play time at night and in the morning she should be okay staying at home with the X-pen. Good luck! Also a question for Tarmar or anyone else ho could shed some light . Tarmar said she lets her Yorkies sleep with her, well I just started doing that because Murphy would wake up and want out of his crate at least 3 - 4 times in the night. Since I have been letting him sleep with me he sleeps through the night mostly but every now and then he will wake up and pee on the bed. Do you think he is too young to be letting him sleep in the bed with me? I mean if I hear him wake up I will take him out to potty and he will but lets face it - at 1:00am and with a 2 1/2 lb puppy sometimes I can not feel him wake up and walk around. He seems like he is doing really well at going potty outside but every now and then he will lift his leg to something at the house. I was wondering if neutering will help stop that? Thanks

| Falling out or trying to jump off is the only danger while they are still puppies. There are doggie stairs for that! ;>))) |
