| I really lost it today This is really getting on my nerves, I put Royce on the pad and repeated pee pee about 20 times, he didnt pee and as soon as he was out of the kitchen he peed on the carpet, I got really upset shouted andyelled at him rubbed his nose in his pee and beat him on his bum . He did that twice . I have been really patient for the last couple of weeks putting him on the pad every 15 minutes and praising and giving treats and ignoring him when he peed on the carpet but i'm at my limit, it looks likehe will never understand that he has to go to the pad and pee . when it comes to other things he is very smart and understands what i want ... |

| My Zoe is 9 1/2 mths and she still has accidents every day. It requires a lot of patience and spanking and yelling will only make your baby scared of you. Believe me.... we got a maltese when he was 1 yr. old and it was obvious that he had been yelled at and spanked, because when we walked toward him too quickly, he would pee all over himself. Be gentle, or you will just damage him emotionally. How old is he?

| I agree with Princess Zoe! They are going to have accidents, and maybe forever! If you spank them and yell at them they will just continue to do it! They do not know any better! Just have lots of patience and it will happen soon! Dont give up! I have learned that if you just ignore it when they go on the floor but really praise them when they go on the pads then they will learn alot faster!

| Is he used to a crate? If so, after you've given him a chance to pee on the pad and he's refused, crate him for about 10 minutes and try again. Repeat until he pees on the pad. Then it's play, play, play or whatever floats his boat. If he has any opportunity to pee on the rug, he will, so take that opportunity away. Eventually, he'll get it. Good luck!

| I know it's frustrating but you have to be patient. Remember he is not doing it to annoy you or being disobedient, he doesn't understand yet. Rubbing his nose in it and hitting him is confusing him. He smells his urine and then gets smacked. He doesn't know why! It took me a year to train mine so I do know how you feel but you can't blame a puppy for being a puppy. He will get it eventually, it just takes a lot of work on your part.
