| Help Please! 2 year old suddenly marking!?!?! I need help. Simon is over 2 and has NEVER lifted his little leg to potty but suddenly he is exhibiting odd behavior. A few days ago he lifted his leg on the side of my couch, yesterday he lifted his leg on my curtain and pee'd! This morning he did it again on the corner of my comforter! I don't know why, he has been pad trained forever and still uses it but every once in awhile I catch him doing this. I don't know what to do? I gave him a firm "no" but I don't know how to stop it! Thanks for any help! |

| Uhhh Oh!!!! I hope you find an answer to this soon. Being I now have a "male" I sure don't wanna experience this too, ugh! Have you had visitors (furry one's) lately in your home? Maybe he's feeling his space was invaded?? I dunno?? Is he on any medi for his hurt leg? Maybe that's making him feel odd?? I dunno?? Does he have enough soccer balls to keep him busy??

| Vet check first. I check for any signs of a health issuse. Blaader infection or anal glands. Teeth checked....... I start by watching closer and retrain the outside potty habits. Tons of praise and treats if he goes outside. Ignore the inside stuff. I mean totally ignore it, notice but no comment even by your body language. Take him out of the room he had the accident in and clean it up very well so no smell at all to him. Let him back in and not a word. He get no reward postive or negative for peeing inside. I watch to see if it was a trigger what happens in the day. Does he pee after he see a dog go by the window? Does he pee after his fur sibling makes says or does something to him? Does he pee after he was been scolded by you? Is it after something happens. Sometimes peeing is stress relief it a smell he knows that is calming. My girl pees always after having an run in with a dog/ or a loud noise hapens outside. It a stress relief not an alpha marking thing. So watch and make notes as it could be any little thing even that which you see as small. Joy |
