| Housebreaking Hi everyone! We've had our yorkie for almost a month now. I've been very consistent with her and taking her out to pee and poop. However, these passed few days I've noticed a change in her behavior. More growling, barking constantly, and cleaning her area a lot more. We have her scheduled to get spayed this week. She was doing great with her potty training, but today she's been having so many accidents. Especially when we're ready to walk out the door so she can relieve herself. She's gonna be 7 months and we're just getting so frustrated, and I know it's not her fault but it's hard. Any other suggestions? |

I also ended up confining her in her pen area (it's a 6'x4' area) until she was consistently peeing on the pad again.. it just took a day. Maybe there's something health related with you pup? | |

| Sounds like a UTI getting started. Time for a vet check.

| You might find some tips here: The Housebreaking Bible I love that website. Also, checking her for a UTI is a good idea

| Sounds to me like she is going to have her period. Our Zuzi usually is taken out for pee and poo four times a day. But when she is on her period she goes outside may be 8 times. Also, cleaning her area like almost twenty minutes. It is their way to keep themselves clean. When she had her period for first time it was so weird to me but then we discussed with our vet and he said that it is completely normal. Changing her behavior is also completely normal.Just like a woman Just kidding of course It is normal for her to be much more nervous. Also, plays and games are not so exciting for her and she might not be interested. Basically the only thing they love to do during that time is sleeping and cleaning themslves. You might see her as a completely different dog. The usual begs for cuddles are also gone which is really amazing, no? |
