My 13w Yorkie only pees every 4-5 hours Hello all! I'm the brand new momma of a very sweet little lady yorkie, Lou. So far, she's doing great with potty training! I'm a teacher and still off for the summer, so I watch her like a hawk 24-7, and so far we haven't had any accidents. BUT I'm a little concerned that she doesn't seem to pee often enough. I've read that a 3month old yorkie can hold it up to 3 hours, but Lou waits 4-5 hours between pee breaks, which seems like a really long time for such a tiny pup. Along those lines, Lou can sleep through the entire night without needing to potty. She sleeps in a crate by my bed, so I know she's not sneaking off anywhere and I've triple-checked her bedding for wetness. Did I just get lucky with a strong-bladdered dog? Or is this something I should be concerned about?

My Yorkie is the same, but she's 18 months. When she does pee, she does it 2-3 times in a row. She can go for long periods and not go at all. The trainer felt this was a result of long periods of being kept in a crate before she came to me. She was 15 months when I got her. I will be interested in this thread, thanks for asking.

My boy, Wally is 9 weeks old and we're working on potty training; has been with us foe a week, now. He also goes several hours between. He sleeps in a crate beside my bed, sleeps all night, and has never peed in his crate from day one. I'm amazed. At one point thought there was something wrong with him. All that being said, when he does go, he sometimes puts it in the right place, and sometimes not. We're a work in progress.

Good to know. Just got my little Snickers (8+ wks). First night slept 9 hrs. in her kennel without a peep (or pee) and last night slept from 10 pm to 10 am - same thing. Had puppy wellness check at vet today & is perfect. It just seems odd that at 2 1/2 lbs. can hold it for that long. Wonder if I should be concerned?

| My dog is older but I'd say that is awesome. Hopefully it lasts
