| Frequent peeing My 15 week old Yorkie is peeing too much, sometimes 15-20 minutes after going. I have read about others that have had this problem and would like to hear from those that have had success in solving the problem. I will try anything! |

| Hi Cheryl I have the same problem. Sometimes my girl ( 4 months) can go 2 to 3 times in an hour especially if she is playing and drinking water. Sorry I don't have any advice, but I hope this get's better when she gets older. |

| I would rule out a bladder infection, if you haven't. Rylee used to go potty quite often, when I first brought her home at 11 months old. After the vet ruled out a bladder infection I realized it was behavioral. She has since stopped as she learned to "hold it" but still goes more often than Monroe. Sometimes I think it's marking behavior outside. You might try crate training as this should help teach her to hold it. |

| Thank you for your replies. I have had her checked out at the vet and she is a healthy little girl. Vet did say it is behavioral but I needed to hear it from other Yorkie owners. I will keep diligently working with her. |

YT 500 Club Member | At 15 weeks her little bladder is so small & weak It will take several more months to grow stronger. When my little boy was that age we were outside more than inside LOL. Ruling out any medical issue would be good. I've always had little boys which potty trained real well. I've been told boys are easier to train than girls. Don't know the truth in that, but all my boys I've had are Mamma's boys.

| Thank you, if it's her bladder still getting stronger that is good to know. Yes, I had the vet run a couple tests and she is a healthy little girl. |

Yorkie Talker | Is this gender Confusion Hi I jumped in here since you are talking about frequent peeing but my confusion goes a bit further yes my little girl is peeing several times during our walks but she is also walking with our male dog and has started hiking her leg to pee on a bush or tree so of course she is marking just like my male but will she stop hiking her little leg or do I just wait this one out. I know our male dog can pee at every stop but I did not know girls tried it too I am open to your thoughts. |

Yorkie Talker | I agree with the strange part little girls are not made to lift their leg she is so small it really looks funny I have even taken pictures of her doing this, I will admit his influence on her has been really good she has learned so much from him by watching he is a English Springer Spaniel very sweet and a mountain to her size and she loves him so much but this one leg lift thing really caught me LOL |

| My 7 month old male Yorkie holds it all night, from 10 pm to 6 am. He is neutered and has no health problems. The frequent peeing makes me crazy. I take him out on the leash, tell him" hurry up" he pees on command, gets lots of praise, NO treats, comes in the house, and pees some more. He is so fast that sometimes I don't even see him doing it even when I keep him on the leash. Now I put him immediately in his crate when he comes in. I really hate to do that because my two other dogs (dachshund and Irish terrier) enjoy the run of the house. I am retired so I am home all day to take all of them out in my large yard. I hear from other Yorkie owners that some of them NEVER get completely housebroken. I am just about ready to give him up and surrender him to to Yorkie rescue. Is there anything else I can do? I would very much like to keep him, but this is getting to be a big problem. |
