Help. Sudden aggression! My boy is 8 yrs old, recently had a good dental and tests. He is in good shape and eating, peeing, pooping etc fine. He had an issue with fear aggression for a while when he was around two yrs old after a long bout with eye surgery and infection. He became scared when anyone came near him as he thought they would be putting eye drops in him. He gradually overcame this issue. However, a few weeks ago, he would attack and bite me after he had eaten his last meal at night. I give him food at 8 pm to prevent throwing up bile in early am. He is not food aggressive at all and I can put my hands in his bowl and he does not mind. He is ok with other meals, but just attacks at dinner time!
I feed him in the kitchen as usual and have the leash on his harness as usual so he is ready to be taken out to potty after eating. I wait in the kitchen until he is done and walking about the kitchen, and then I try to pick up the far end of the leash to take him outside for potty. He then attacks and bites me and it scares me.
Does anyone have any idea why he is suddenly doing this at night, and how can I stop it? As of now I feel I will just leave him in the kitchen with his bowl and wait for him to come out for me to take him outside. But that is not solving the basic problem.
