| First time owner! Hey everyone hope you are having great days. Im excited to announce that I just got a New Yorkie puppy 8 weeks old named Rocky. This is my first time having a dog and I was hoping you guys could help me out with some basic tips on how to own and train him. I live in an apartment so taking him outside to relive himself is quite difficult so I got him a potty pad and since I have gotten it he's only relived himself on it so we're doing okay. Anyways thank you In advance to whomever leaves any suggestions and hope you all have a fantastic day. |

| Welcome to YT and congratulations on your baby boy. I hope you puppy proofed your apartment, meaning, all wires, TV, Stereo, lamps etc. wires are elevated OFF the floor or you have block off any areas where wires are so puppy cannot get to them, they are notorious for chewing wires. Do not leave shoes, slippers socks where puppy can get at them , he will chew them. Puppies have to be free fed, meaning food should be available all day. If puppy is eating dry food, make sure it is filled as he eats it, puppies have small stomachs, eat little bits, they like to graze throughout the day. Have fun with this lil guy.
