| Newbie Hi, Came across this site and i love it! I am the proud Mum of Cash who is nearly 4 months old, we have had him home for nearly two months now and has brought so much joy into our family. Cash enjoys nothing more than chewing at carpets, burrowing the leather sofa or burrowing in general. I understand this is a common behaviour in most puppies but would love some advice on curbing this as we have tried most things and can only distract him for a short time then away he goes again! He also seems to run and hide whenever I try to walk him, is this normal?!! Looking forward to getting know other owners and learning from this site. Many thanks Evie |

| I used bitter Apple spray on the carpets when my puppy wanted to chew them and it worked, you may need to reapply frequently until he stops. Now my puppy won't go near where it's freshly sprayed. As far as burrowing - what about one of the beds that are made for burrowing, or his own blanket where it's ok to burrow? I don't know because I haven't experienced this yet, but thought I'd throw out the ideas. |

| Hi Evie...nice to meet you! Your little Cash is still so young - and will get into everything, and chew anything. Distraction's fine (for as long as it lasts eeek!) but he really needs to be protected from HIMSELF All 'the wires' used to be our big concern... Confining our Harry to a smaller space was the only thing that worked for us while we were out....when we were around, we had a pile of pillows + blankies within his bed area... As for the walking - when you take him out - where do you go and what do you do? Is he concerned about his harness? I know it took us AGES to get Harry used to 'being restricted'!!! On actually going outside our house, everything must have seemed so huge and noisy to him, we would tempt him along with treats...for the first month or so, I would pick him up and carry him around outside, introducing him to anything/everything (poor neighbourhood!!!) We look forward to getting to know you, hope it all sorts itself out Sally + Harry x
