| Rosie Mae So my yorkie has never shown signs of agression, until St.Patricks day our family came over for dinner and when they were leaving my little 10 year old cousin went to pick her up to say good bye she growled and nipped at her... Rosie had been fine with my little cousin before then and she only does it towards her and noone else and she never hurt her or did anything to her but still to this day will not let my little cousin touch her and it breaks my little cousins heart cause she loves rosie and now thinks rosie hates her. I am wondering what could be wrong or why she is doing this.. and how do we correct it i want it to be corrected early. |

| Could there have been an instant or just a minute when maybe your little cousin may have accidently pinched or pulled or"hit" or sat on her....any little thing that did not break bones or do any damage, but frightened Rosie and now Rosie is reluctant to trust her? |

| Maybe it's the way your little cousin is trying to pick Rosie Mae up, as yorkiemom1 suggested, she may have hurt her, not in a way that would make Rosie Mae yelp, could have been to much pressure when picked up. All my pups, from baby to adulthood, I scoop them up, right hand under butt, left hand under front legs, no pressure. I don't allow anyone to pick up my babies under their arm pits or around their middle, it's my way, or you don't pick them up.

| She has always picked her up the same way two hand under her belly and then cradles her in her arms I pick her up with one hand under her belly as does every adult she uses two cause her hands are smaller like I said it just started last week rosie was fine with her before that |

| That's strange, something must have spooked her. Perhaps others will come along with suggestions / advise.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I agree that something may have happened that either scared or frightened her that even your cousin may not realize. I would have your cousin sit down with some treats and wait for your puppy to come to her. Your cousin can give her a treat and begin building a relationship again. If your cousin is afraid and jerks away, that will make nipping much worse. |

| My one dog hates kids... When my daughter was born 11 years ago my oldest fur baby was only 3 years old and he hated the baby. He would creep around furniture and stalk her and he even nipped her once right on the cheek. Naturally I was a little concerned but he was here first and so I just summed it up to jealousy. Once she was walking and he realized she wasn't going anywhere he got a little better. But I always would discipline with a stern "no bite"! And then I would do what Cesar Milan does and lay the dog on his back or side and make the child pet the dog while he's in the submissive position (obviously once she was older). Even now to this day when friends come over with small children he gets the stalking going again and I can see him fighting the urge to bite. I have to watch constantly and tell him "no bite"! But he's older now (14years) and very obedient. I could never trust him alone or even leave the room if there are kids around. So usually I just put him in my room. |

| I don't think my little cousin did anything she was only playing with rosie when they first arrived at our house then my cousin went and played with the other kids downstairs and rosie was upstairs with the adults and it didn't happen till she went to pick rosie up to give her a snuggle before they left |
