| lazy sleepy days Can anyone help me? My little girl is 6 and a half months old now. She is normally an active girl and plays most of the day, but every so often she will have a day when she refuses to eat. On these days it is so hard to get her to eat anything and she sleeps a lot. Next day she is back to normal. Does anyone else have this behaviour - otherwise she is very happy, well adjusted and vigorous and vocal. |

| Oh dear. I can see that would concern you. 6 month olds are usually pretty active. Has she seen her vet lately? Any blood work done recently?

| lazy sleepy yorkie Thanks for the reply. She is normally an extremely active puppy and is very healthy and happy, so I do not think it is a medical problem. I was wondering more about the odd time out time. Right now she is running around the house, after a sleepy day, playing with the other dogs. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this behaviour. I really do not think she is poorly. |

| I have a three and a half year old, and she can be a bit picky. Most days she is fine with eating. She eats everyday without a problem. I do have to not feed her the same thing everyday. She seems to get bored with that. But then there are days when she eats very little or nothing at all. She acts perfectly normal. I asked the vet about it and he says sometimes maybe she is just not hungry. I have found if I give her a little piece of boiled chicken or a bit of a treat like egg when it is time to eat, it wets her appetite and then she'll eat her meal. Most every time it works. Because your pup is a bit younger, you might need to be careful of low blood sugar. Maybe others who have more knowledge will be able to comment. Good luck to you. |
