| I need potty training HELP! My little man fin is about to be 13 weeks and we have had him for about 2 weeks now. At night we keep him in the kitchen with a gate, inside the kitchen there is his little bed area, water, a little food, and a potty area. During the night he will pee and poop on the pad ( sometimes he misses but i cant be mad about that) During the day i take him out 3-4 times to walk and potty. BUT since we live on the 3rd floor i been trying to have him potty inbetween our walks inside his potty area. During the day he pees EVERYWHERE in our kitchen. Not even close to the pad. I would LOVE to train him to go outside but its not realistic to take him down 8-10 times a day especially when it storms ( i live in Florida ). I am slowly crate training him. He stays in kitchen during my work hours (5 hours a day) and when i get home its crate training time. He has had FEW accidents on the carpet but that's when he first came to us and a few times when he got scared. My question is... am i doing things wrong? Ive had a chihuahua before my yorkie and he was crate/potty trained in no time with this method. But im thinking i need to change things up. HELP! |

| Hi and welcome to YT. Buster would pee in the hallway where I kept him as a puppy for a long time until I started cleaning the area with an enzymatic cleaner as the smell would entice him back to that spot. He is much better now and usually pees on the pad though I wish I could convince him that all four paws should be on the pad not just the front two. Perhaps you are giving him too much room in the kitchen? I am hoping others will respond with good solutions.
