| The Puppy Apartment what size are you using? Ok the days are nearing and I'm about to get my first Yorkie but I've got a question about the Puppy Apartment for a new yorkie. What size should I get a xs which is 24"L x 18"W x 19"H. Or small 30"L x 19"W x 21"H. The yorkie I will be getting wont be a teacup. Ive seen it online Puppy Apartment I look forward to your reply. |

| Hello and congrats on your first Yorkie! I purchased my first Yorkie August of 2013 and I bought the small Puppy apartment. I will tell you a few things as I have weathered the puppy apartment storm for close to a year now, lol. My Yorkie came home with me around 3 months old and I introduced her immediately to her apartment. If I can offer any advice it would be to FOLLOW THE DVD TO A T! I work full time and knew that taking my baby out during the day would prove to be difficult and I needed help with it is why I purchased the apartment. The DVD that comes with it is extremely helpful but what I wish they told me before I purchased the apartment is that the apartment was not meant for the dog to be contained for long periods of time (example 8 hour work day) well that was the purpose of me buying it so she wouldn't have to hold her urine or feces. Now Pepper goes pee pee inside of the apartment and poops but she's NOT consistent with it, which is where I made my error with the apartment.......after a few months of her getting the swing of it....we backed off of the praise and gave her too much freedom of the home. Now since she is crated in the apartment during the day as soon as she gets out she pees on the floor......so I don't know if I've confused her or what but I'm overly frustrated since it will be a year soon of trying to train her to this thing. I honestly hope you have more success than I did and again FOLLOW THE DVD.....if your able to be home with your new puppy for awhile while you train her to this apartment that would be most ideal. Good Luck |
