Bark bark bark Hello everybody! Chewie is 17 weeks, lately he starts barking between 3-6 in the morning and will not stop. I wake up and take him to his pad but he doesn't pee or poo.... I mean of course he doesn't because he already peed in his play pen. So I take him out and clean the pen and make sure everything is dry. He has water and his toys and his blankie. At this point I don't know what it is, but it's driving me insane. It is way too early to be barking or whining. What can I do? Or what could it be? I love my little monkey but I need my sleep and he does too Thank you in advance!!!

Maybe getting up at 3 and taking him out to potty, before he soils his bedding would be a remedy?

Setting alarm and slowly moving to longer periods will be appreciated by pup and you. House breaking will be set in by pup sooner and as time is longer you will get a full nights sleep sooner.

Also just an afterthought, housebreaking as in all training, the less you set conditions that a pup can fail, they faster and better the training will go. As with a repeated command, a missed pee request and resulting accident is sometimes/often a setback, lengthening the needed training time. You can train a dog in days, it takes 6 weeks or more to train the owner, lol

That's what I thought too, that he barks because he peed but he still continues to bark even after I clean and everything. Yup it's a work in progress with the potty training. Thank you!!

When our Queensland was spayed I spent nights on floor in living room with her, wife thought I was nuts. But she healed perfect, not trying to get to stiches and yes in years to follow controlled bed space and became wife's (not a dog person at first) best buddy.

I would love it if Chewie slept in my bed but he tries to bite my face and that's just unacceptable

| Could Chewie be lonely in his crate/pen? Or cold? He has no concept of time and schedule right now but will soon get used to the one you set for him. Pups have to potty often...good luck! I love his name! I had a yellow Lab named Chewie yrs. ago. I miss him so!
