| Help! Puppy humping older dog! I just got a yorkie (7 months old) and brought him home. My older dog (Maltese 6years old) started trying to hump him and the yorkie didn't care for it at first but once the Maltese stopped, the yorkie began trying to hump the Maltese and won't leave him alone. The Maltese moves out of the way but won't show any aggression to the puppy to say "stop". He simply let's the puppy do it and the puppy just seems to not wanna let the Maltese be! Is there any way I can correct this? I've told him NO and pulled him off and say him in my lap trying to calm him but soon as I let go he runs to try to continue. I have him in his kennel right now because he just won't leave the Maltese alone. they were playing together just fine before this! |

| Why dont you say NO -hisnamehere- firmly and put him down on the floor again. If he runs to the maltese again, pick him-Your yorkie- up and take him to another room he is allowed in (make sure he has no access to get out!) and walk away without doing anything like getting his toys to play with or stroking him before you leave. Remember this is a punishment not a holiday for him. If you mean you pull him onto your lap once you have told him no dont do it! This is what he will think. okay i had my punishment but now she is gona give me cuddles After 10 minutes he has been in the other room let him in and if he still does it say NO -hisnamehere- Not good! and tap his nose ( firm but gentle so it doesnt hurt him, just gives him a small shock ). I am not sure what to do if this still goes on but im sure you will get some more great suggestions. Hope all goes well for you!

YT 1000 Club Member | Rasta(our yorkie) attempts to hump our bulldog at times. Clapping my hands and saying a loud "No!" stops him. He'll look at me, run to his crate, and sit there in his self appointed time out until he feels he's served his sentence. |
