| Poop in Crate So I have had my puppy for a few weeks now. She is 7 months old. I am not sure what her previous owners have taught her to do. I have been having problems getting her to go to the bathroom outside let alone at all. I take her out multiple times and we stay outside and walk around for a while. Now when I have my parents dogs visit and they all go outside she will go with them and potty then after they left she went for a few days outside and then just stopped going at all to my knowledge. I don't see her go. I feed her once in the morning and it lasts her all day long and she has plenty of water. So I figure to take her out a lot and I do but she never goes. Then when I leave and put her in her cage which is only big enough to turn around and lay down like some people have said. She always poops in her cage. How can I make this stop and make progress on getting her to even go when we are outside. I know she is just a puppy and its going to take time to get a schedule and this is a new place for her, but it just has me worried as a mother. If anyone can give me some advice I would really appreciate it. |

| Hi, it is tough when they 'go' in their crates, my bichon used to do this. I have no answer for this, sorry! Try to figure out when she may need to go out and then go for a longer walk, it seems to encourage them to go potty. Give a small treat and lots of praise. good luck! |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Getting her on a set feeding schedule will be a big help when it comes to potty training also. Try to get into a regular routine of eat, than out for a potty break. Making sure to praise her tons for doing a good job and when you get back indoors give her a cheerio as a treat. Tell her "Good Potty" I also have some other great potty and other training tips that can be of some help getting her trained. The link is in my signature below !!

| Jess did the same. Point to it and tell her "no no bad poopy" in a low voice then take her poop and put it outside where you want to go. Dance around and point to it and say "good poopy" keep letting her watch you put the poop in the same spot outside. Then when you take her out bring her to that spot where the pop is and tell her to "go good poopy". when she does go bananas..it takes a while but it works. I did that with Jess on a potty pad (she doesn't go outside) and it worked.. |
