| My almost 4 yr old girl staring to wet our carpet during night We have a girl yorkie that will be 4yr on Thanksgiving and always did pretty well with pee pads. Then we got a 2nd yorkie when the first one was 1 1/2.They love each other and the younger smaller yorkie "Marley" has turned out to be the more dominant dog.Last year I realized "'Baby" the older Yorkie had started urinating on carpet in my sons room and for awhile I believe our house has turned into a free for all witth the pottying. We now have baby gates up in all bedrooms and keep the dogs in an X-pen while at work and kids at school. The dogs have never had a problem going on the carpet in my husbands and my bedroom and the dogs both sleep with us and I love this.Well about a 1 1/2 months ago the older yorkie who has always gotten up at night at least once a night to potty on pads or drink water started urinating in our room. Its so obvious she knows its a bad potty cause she puts her ears back and crouches to her crate bed when we find it.Only doess this in middle of night and seem to be time of night when I am sleeping really hard an dont wake up to hear her jump down.I walk my dogs 1 or 2x a day so they get exercise and should be tired at night.Breaks my heart, I think I am going to have to keep her in her xpen at night now she has done this 2 nights in a row.Anybody had problems with this and what did you do?She has sleep in our bed since we got her as a small puppy an this has never happened before. |

| If this is something she has never done, I would take her into the Vet- get her checked out. Maybe she has an UTI or something else can be going on. You can make sure she empties her bladder before you guys go to bed. I do with my male and it helps. He will get up to pee in the middle of the night, but I noticed if I make him go before bed he doesn't.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | When I brought in a male rescue a few years ago, my 3 girls all started having accidents in the house. Like you my house turned into a giant pee pad. Nikki the male never had an accident and he was a very senior gut, just my girls. Sadly, Nikki passed away last summer. Even though he was gone they continued their bad habits. I tore out all the carpet (gross) and had hard wood floors out in all but the bedrooms and bathrooms. I put new carpet in the bedrooms. Now my girls only have access to my bedroom area where the new carpet is covered in plastic (looks great not!) and the hall, kitchen and breakfast area. After awhile they started peeing on the hard wood. So now they are confined in my bedroom, which is large. They have access to the walk in closet, bed and half the room that is covered in plastic. This is where their pee pads are. I spend all my time in the bedroom so they are always with me. When confined they use the pee pads or Pixie goes outside. So now I am really getting on them when they are on the hardwood to not go potty there. I know some of it was my fault by not being as diligent as I should have but my DH became very ill and then passed so I was not as focused as I needed to be. I don't know if I will ever get them 100% trained but I am working on it. I hope you can turn it around I know how frustrating it is.

| My Copper will be 4 in December and he has started peeing in the hall at night. It is also when I am sleeping hard and don't hear him get up. I always have pee pads out during the night and I do take him potty before we go to bed. Sometimes I take him in the night if he wakes me. I haven't come up with a solution yet, but it is nice to know I'm not alone in this problem.
