| My yorkie regressed after we got a puppy ! Our 2 yr. old yorkie Stu ! Has not taken to our 3 month old pomerian puppy. The 1st day we got him he drooled the entire day. Now he refuses to go on the potty pads. He's starting to at least tolerate him and play for a few minutes. But has very little tolerance for him. When I've had dogs in the past ,it was easier to potty train a 2nd dog in no time. Know I've got them both going everywhere but the potty pad. We started taking them out separately on A leash yesterday. It's going okay, besides doing it every 30 minutes. If we didn't have a coyote problem this would be a lot easier. I hope we didn't ruin are yorkie by spoiling him to much. He won't go in a kennel. If he does we have to bath him immediatley. We've asked the vet and she's never heard of a dog doing this. The training said he could help us with the puppy. But I don't think things are gonna change unless I get Stu back on track. Has this happened to anyone? Or any ideas? |

| His nose may be a bit out of joint, so to speak, with the new puppy in the house. Time to go back to Potty Training 101. I know you will probably be frustrated to now begin training two puppies at the same time but...that's kind of what you may need to do. Make sure they both have separate pads do go on and that may help your older pup. Sometimes I think it's a territorial thing. If you can keep the baby penned while allowing your older dog a bit of freedom but not free run of the house, that may help with this process. I wish you all the best with this, I know it will take some time but I bet you will be successful!! Blessings!

| How long have you had the puppy? maybe you need to give the older dog more time away from the new dog by using an ex pen for the puppy. Is stu marking his territory? If that is it you could use belly band. I think if it were me I would get an ex pen for the puppy and start over with the interacting and only limit it for short periods at a time. When I got my puppy I had an older dog and I had and ex pen and I did not let them interact for the first week except by sniffing each other through the ex pen or if I was holding the puppy I would let the older dog come over and check her out. As time went on I would use the ex pen for the puppy when she was annoying the older dog too much. It has been almost 4 yrs and they are best buddies
